Donald Trump Bemoans the 'Communism' of His Assets Being Monitored

Donald Trump has been branded a "communist" and evidence that the judicial system has been "weaponized" against him is a judge's decision to permit an impartial watchdog to oversee the assets of his family business.

The former president criticized Justice Arthur Engoron's decision to approve New York Attorney General Letitia James' request that a third party monitors the Trump Organization's assets ahead of a $250 million civil fraud trial while speaking at a rally in Sioux City, Iowa, on Thursday night.

According to the decision, the Trump Organization, together with the former president, Donald Jr., Ivanka, and Eric Trump, cannot transfer assets without a judge's permission.

Until her lawsuit, in which she claims the former president falsely inflated his net worth by billions of dollars to "unjustly enrich himself and cheat the system," is resolved, James asked that a monitor be appointed to oversee financial disclosures so the company would "immediately stop engaging in financial fraud."

In Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Trump addressed the crowd, saying, "Just moments ago, a radical left lunatic judge in New York City who is totally controlled by my worst enemies in the Democrat Party—who was given his position at the request of the out of control attorney general who has led violent crime in New York rage in the state, including murders, robberies, rape and drugs and levels are never seen before—started a process of property confiscation that is akin to Venezuela, Cuba.

What's happening in our nation is communism, according to Trump. "The Justice Department is being militarized by them. Things that weren't meant to be weapons have been weaponized."

The comments reaffirm what Trump indicated in a statement that was released shortly after it was decided to appoint an independent monitor to oversee his corporate enterprise.

"A judgment that has never previously been made in America was recently rendered by a puppet judge of the New York attorney general and other sworn foes of President Trump and the Republican Party. Communism has arrived on our soil "Added Trump.

James' agency has been in charge of a protracted civil investigation into claims that the Trump Organization falsely overstated or understated the value of a number of its assets and properties to obtain advantages including better bank loans and lower tax obligations.

James' $250 million lawsuit against Trump's company is "certain to win," according to Engoron, who also noted that the defendants have "failed to produce an iota of proof" to refute the attorney general's claims that the Trump Organization engaged in "continuous deception" over the years.

Engoron's order included a number of James's previously mentioned instances of potential fraud. One example was when Trump claimed in financial statements that his Manhattan Tower Triplex penthouse was valued at $327 million based on claims it was 30,000 square feet in size while in reality, it was only 10,996 square feet.

Additionally, the court cited Trump's use of the Fifth Amendment more than 400 times while responding to questions during his August deposition as a "negative inference."
