No. 23 Elyria Catholic pulls away late against Midview for 35-14 win

ELYRIA, Ohio — Falling behind early, No. 23 Elyria Catholic ground out its offense and got into gear in the second half as the Panthers handed Midview its second straight loss on Friday with a 35-14 victory.

For the past two years at Elyria Catholic (2-1), senior running back Levi Ellis has been the man in head coach Brian Fox’s offense and Friday night against the hungry Middies (1-2) was no different.

Creating some chaos just before the end of the third, Midview tightened things back up at 21-14 thanks to a pick-6 from Jeremy Mathes, but it was all Elyria Catholic from there.
