Dollar General Being Sued By Attorney General of Ohio

The state attorney general of Ohio is bringing legal action against Dollar General on claims that the retailer misrepresented product pricing on the shelves and overcharged customers at the register.

According to allegations from 12 county inspections conducted between March 2021 and August, Dollar General retailers had been deceiving customers into paying more than they should have for their merchandise.

According to the lawsuit, between 16% and 88% of the tested items were discovered to be listed as less expensive on the shelf than they were at checkout. Stores are only permitted a 2% legal difference between the advertised and final pricing under state legislation.

Butler Area conducted an examination last month and discovered 20 establishments in the county had published fake prices, according to the law suit.
