Post Office Building Ablaze in Kipton, Ohio

(PS) - 200 State St in Kipton, Ohio was ablaze this evening. The apartment building had fire and rescue on the scene. With there still being no knowledge of the amount of damage and not knowing if anyone was injured we hope the best for the owner.

This apartment that was caught onfire is right above the Kipton Federal Post Office and we have yet to see how this may affect residents with their mail. It seems the Kipton Fire department was able to stop the blaze and damages have yet to be assessed. This comes only 25 days after the Shelby, Ohio Post Office went up in flames on Thursday, November 13th, 2022.

According to Shelby County dispatch, the incident started at a USPS facility on the 6600 block of Palestine Street, close to the border between Pemberton and Sidney. From the USPS building, smoke was seen to be coming before the fire was called in.

We can only hope now for the tenants, owners and community that the blaze caused limited damage and no injuries we will report more as the news comes in.
