Terrel Dixion Promoted To Head Coach

Terrel Dixon is prepared to take over after serving as co-coach for one year and two years on the Elyria Catholic softball staff.

After longtime head coach Jim Piazza announced his retirement from coaching, Dixon would serve as the only head coach of the Panthers' softball team.

Dixon stated, "I worked as an assistant coach at Elyria Catholic for two years. "I co-head coached with Coach Piazza the previous season. We are going alone this year. Going through a small period of transition, but (this season) will be enjoyable."

Piazza will still serve as the athletic director of Elyria Catholic even if he has stopped coaching.

The Lake Erie Warhawks' 16-and-under travel softball team is coached by Dixon and features some of the top softball players in the region, including 2022 first-team All-Ohioans Emma Ody (Avon) and Anna Wise (Brecksville-Broadview Heights).

With the travel softball area's expertise at his fingertips, he intends to improve the strength of schedule, which will aid in their early-year promotion
