Woman charged in Elyria man’s death, police say



CLEVELAND, Ohio — An Elyria woman is charged in the death of a man Wednesday morning, police said.

Bonita Tracy Ann Wright, 30, of Elyria is accused in the slaying of 28-year-old Keyron J. Ficklin, according to a news release from Elyria police.

Wright made her initial court appearance Thursday and is being held in the Lorain County Jail on a $250,000 bond.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Sept. 8, according to Elyria Municipal Court records.

Officers responded to a call about an unresponsive man inside of a home on Church Lane, near West Avenue.

Police found Ficklin dead inside of the home. Detectives and the Lorain County Coroner were called to the scene and began investigating.

Elyria police detectives are continuing with the investigation and have not released any information on the circumstances surrounding the death or the relationship between Ficklin and Wright.
